When it comes to imports, there really isn’t another option other than B-Pro. Before discovering B-Pro I’ve worked with other companies on imports in the past and didn’t have service anywhere close to what B-Bro provides. I’ve worked with Brian on multiple cars now and have had awesome service all the way through. Communication is the main thing when it comes to purchasing an unseen vehicle from Japan, and Brian will make sure all your questions are answered correctly and quickly. My documents were mailed and emailed to me quickly.
He helped me bring my Altezza rs200 over during a global pandemic without delay. After picking it up and adding a couple goodies to make it road ready, I had it insured within a week of landing. Thanks again for all the help! Will be returning for my next import.
My son brought home a JDM Subaru and I immediately knew I wanted to explore the RHD experience. Brian came highly recommended in the JDM community so I contacted him to begin looking. Brian clearly explained the process to me, which turned out to be very easy. He went to great lengths to search his contacts for just the right car. I was a picky buyer and Brian patiently proposed a number of units until the right one was secured. He always responded to my emails or phone calls in a timely fashion and was most professional to deal with.
Brian had the dealer in Tokyo ensure the car would be prepped for an Edmonton winter. The car arrived and was even better than advertised, in part because of Brian’s requests to the dealer. I would recommend B-Pro and Brian without hesitation. I know when both my son and I are looking for another JDM vehicle, we will contact Brian and again be well taken care of. Thank you Brian!
Always wanted a little Kei truck after I drove one in 09′ at a landscape job in Saskatoon. I never thought I’d get one till a friend of mine suggested Brian at B-Pro. After I made the deposit he sent me some pictures of trucks to choose from. After I picked and paid for the 96 Honda acty, Brian was quick to get all the papers drawn up for shipping and after a few weeks it arrived in New Westminster cleared customs and a week later, on the train it went bound for Saskatoon. I have got it safetied and been driving it ever since, I love it and highly recommend if you want to import a vehicle B-Pro is the way to go.
Wow, what can I say about Brian and B-Pro? Just exceptional service is probably the most accurate and succinct! I typically have pretty high standards for service, and Brian always completely exceeded them. I must have peppered the guy with more than 100 emails, and he always responded very quickly with comprehensive replies. Buying a JDM vehicle is a somewhat difficult process, with all the unknowns of procedures, vehicle conditions, costs and so on. Brian brings tremendous expertise to help navigate through all the confusion, and help the buyer find the vehicle they want at a price that fits their budget. I don’t think I would have taken the plunge to buy a JDM without his guidance. In the end, I picked up the SUV of my dreams – one that is in great shape, with the mods I was looking for. I could not be happier! This was a great experience.
Put your trust in Brian!
Cars in Japan are often cheaper because of strict inspection laws, high taxes, and the cost of keeping older cars on the road. Most people in Japan prefer buying new cars, which means there’s a huge supply of well-maintained used vehicles with low demand locally. This oversupply, combined with rapid depreciation, makes Japanese cars more affordable for export buyers.
It’s not uncommon to see 15+ year old vehicles with 60,000 km.

Cars must be at least 15 years old to the month of manufacture for most of Canada. Quebec and PEI have enacted their own rules, requiring JDM vehicles to be at least 25 years old to the month of manufacture to be operated on public roads.
JDM cars can be shipped to a local distribution node or to your door anywhere in Canada, provided it meets the federal import laws. This could include Victoria, Vancouver, Terrace, Kamloops and Kelowna, British Columbia; Calgary, Edmonton, Red Deer, Lethbridge and Grand Prairie, Alberta; through the prairies including Regina and Saskatoon, Saskatchewan and Brandon and Winnipeg, Manitoba; centrally to Toronto, Hamilton, Ottawa and Mississauga, Ontario; up north to Whitehorse, Yukon Territory and Yellowknife, Northwest Territories; and all the way east to St. John’s Newfoundland, and St. John, New Brunswick.
We can also ship across the entire United States for vehicles over 25 years old.
With our extensive experience importing Japanese vehicles, and our hundreds of satisfied clients, we can confidently say that there is little risk to purchasing your next JDM from Japan. We have developed a network of trusted contacts in Japan, and coupled with the auction sheet and second checks, the vehicle you buy is the one that will be delivered to your door.
Our contacts have been developed over many years, and can provide photos of cars at auction, can contact dealers and private sellers, and give us expert advice of each specific unit.
The standardized auction sheets are given to each vehicle consigned to an auction house and are a thorough examination of the car’s status. It includes an overall grade (for most used cars a 4 or 3.5 are good targets), and will display where there may be any blemishes, dents, scratches and rust. The inspector will also make notes of oil leaks, weird noises, or even some of the aftermarket parts that may be installed. These are all translated from Japanese to English for units our clients are interested in.
Once a bid is placed, we can apply for a second check by a third party. They can sometimes get extra pictures, can describe any issues in more detail, and can indicate if anything was missed on the auction sheet. If something unexpected was found we can cancel or adjust the bid accordingly.
Insurance coverage ranges from full, third party liability, comprehensive and collision only coverage. It is available across the country in some form to almost everyone, but depends on the vehicle, individual, location, and insurer. We strongly recommend contacting your insurance broker before making the decision to buy.
Parts availability depends on the vehicle. Some Japanese models have North American counterparts, with many body panels and other parts being available. Others from global manufacturers may have used the same engine and mechanical parts in many other vehicles, with parts ready over the counter.
These days there are established supply chains from tuning houses, to online auctions like eBay and Yahoo Auctions Japan and brokers that help search for small used parts or whole front-end cuts. We can often point you in the right direction.
We arm you with all import papers you need in order to successfully plate the vehicle in Ontario
